As you get to know me, you will realize that one my main demons is money, or rather the lack of it. My pre-dominant thoughts tend to center around lack, fear and poverty. There isn’t a day when I don’t worry about the mortgage, the phone bill, the satellite bill, my business. Now some might say, it is perfectly healthy to worry about such things. Not to the extent when it controls your thoughts for 24 hours.

Anyway yesterday I received the broadband bill. Just as I feared (thoughts become things), it was a final reminder for £149. I went into instant depression. I saw visions of me not being able to work (I work from home using my computer, so an internet connection is vital), me not being able to pay the mortgage and my business failing. After clearing my thoughts in the bath (I find bath time the perfect time for meditation), I decided I need to do something positive about this. So I wrote an email to the broadband company, and stayed focus on the outcome I wanted, more time to pay the bill, and the internet to stay on.

Thoughts….Become……THINGS!!. Here is a snippet of the email I received today:-

I am sorry to know that you are going through a very difficult time at the moment. I understand that you cannot afford to pay the full payment in one go due to some financial crises.

Understanding the fact you can be assured that I have extended your payment due date till 31/12/09 without any penalty charges.

Can you imagine how I feel!. Exuberant, excited and enthusiastic, are the words I will choose. To the doubters I understand you will pass this off as coincidence, or a gesture of goodwill from the company concerned, but does it matter. If it’s get’s a person out of himself long enough, to create a happy, wholesome life, where is the harm.
